How do ranks and XP levels work?
Ranks go from Bronze to Immortal on approved views and videos, and unlock perks like the Shard Store and a CPM bonus. Your XP level is separate, and pays Shards.
You have two ranks: a clipper rank for clipping campaigns and a creator rank for UGC campaigns. Both run from Bronze to Immortal on the same requirements, and they move separately, so you can be Gold as a clipper and Silver as a creator. Your Progression page shows both.
Moving up
Each rank has two goals, views and videos, and you need both. Only approved videos count, and each counts for at most 100,000 views, so one viral video cannot carry you on its own. Perks add up as you climb.
- Bronze: where everyone starts.
- Silver: 3 million views and 50 videos. Opens the Shard Store.
- Gold: 10 million views and 150 videos. Exclusive and sponsored campaigns, and early access to new campaigns.
- Platinum: 25 million views and 300 videos. Priority review on claims, and a 2% CPM bonus.
- Emerald: 50 million views and 500 videos. Invites to VIP SEMA events, and a 5% CPM bonus.
- Diamond: 100 million views and 1,000 videos. A physical SEMA Award.
- Master: 500 million views and 5,000 videos.
- Immortal: 1 billion views and 10,000 videos.
From Diamond up, the Progression page also lists a lower platform fee, marked Coming soon. It is not applied yet, so fees are the same at every rank.
The CPM bonus
At Platinum, SEMA adds 2% to what your videos earn per 1,000 views, and from Emerald up 5% (5% in total, not 2% plus 5%). SEMA pays it, not the brand.
- It follows the campaign's rules: there is no bonus where a video earns nothing, such as under the minimum views, and a post still stops at the campaign's maximum payout.
- It is paid with the rest of the video's earnings, and the platform fee comes off the whole amount.
- It starts with the first view update after you reach the rank. Earnings already counted are not recalculated.
- Clipping campaigns use your clipper rank, and UGC campaigns your creator rank. Fixed per-post fees and Mobile Legends diamond campaigns get no bonus.
XP levels and Shards
Your XP level is separate from your ranks, and XP is never spent.
- XP: 1 for every video you submit that is not rejected, 1 more once it is approved, and 1 per 1,000 views on approved videos, up to 100,000 views a video. UGC videos earn double. Daily tasks, quests and joining the SEMA Discord add more.
- Shards: each new level pays 50 Shards times the level you reach, so level 10 pays 500. Spend them on rewards in the Shard Store, which opens once you are Silver on either rank. Shards cannot be withdrawn as money.
