Connecting and verifying your social account
Prove an account is yours by adding a code we give you to its bio. Videos can only be submitted from a verified account.
Before you can submit a video, you prove that the social account you post from belongs to you. We never ask for your password.
How to verify
- Start connecting the account in the app, from the Submit Video flow or your connected accounts.
- Enter the account's handle. We show you a short verification code.
- Paste the code anywhere in that account's bio and save it on the platform.
- Come back and check the code. Once we find it, the account is verified, and you can take the code out of your bio.
Things to know
- The account must be public, so we can read its bio.
- TikTok needs at least one post on the account: we read the bio from the account's videos, so an empty account cannot be checked yet.
- One account, one creator. A social account verified by one SEMA account cannot be verified by another.
- You have a limited number of checks per code. If the code is not found, make sure the bio was saved and is showing publicly, then try again.
Every video you submit has to come from one of your verified accounts, so nobody can pass off someone else's video as their own.
